System of a Down Local Site
The challenge of creating a faux website for my favorite band’s albums, which at the time was System of a Down: Toxicity, was brought to me as the first website I would work on. It needed to have a merchandise section, a music section with lyrics, and a section to buy tickets for concerts.
The first step to this was to research the band and find out what made up their brand identity. They used a lot of red and black in their album covers and shows which is why those two colors are so apparent in the website. I knew it needed to be an edgy look for the website as well, since that is the style of their music. Research was then done about the making and recording of the album Toxicity as well as the events that took place around the date of the release.
From there I created the necessary modals for the lyrics and purchase pages. Buttons were added to make the modals functional and easy to access for the viewer. Since the website was a template and rewritten in parts, all of the assets such as pictures and words had to be changed to fit the band. Faux concerts were added as well as merchandise and dates.
