Construction and Auto Mechanic Branding

When the client was first approached, the business card lacked branding and just had a few pictures on it of a tool box. Along with the pictures, were printed words accompanied with words written in pen as phone numbers and addresses had been changed. A meeting with the client was set up to go over the ideas of how he wanted his branding to look. Notes were taken about what colors were invisioned and what kind of persona he wanted to be shown to future clients. The client has two different businesses that needs to be shown on a single card. This proved to be a challenge as the two sides needed to look cohesive but different. One side needed to be an Automotive mechanic design and the other needed to be construction. The client stated that he wanted a tough "metal" persona to fit who he was. He also wanted red to be incorporated in both sides. All of this infomation taken down in the first meeting was used to create sketches of logos and business cards.

When the sketches were shown to the client, he gave feedback and requested different elements from different sketches be used in the final product. The Automotive side of the business card was very cohesive and felt well rounded. He said that he would like to see the construction side in different variations and color ways in the next phase. For the two sides to look cohesive but still be distinctly different businesses, it was suggested to the client to have one side vertical and the other horizontal. The feedback was taken to then create the logos and business card in Adobe Illustrator. In this phase, there were three variations of the construction business side, testing colorways and styles. The finished product can be used on business cards or logos on work shirts. The logos were designed in a way to be used in whatever capacity needed, not just on the cards. This way, the client can take the assets and use them however needed instead of just given a business card design.
